Agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and WeRoam. “We” means WeRoam and “you” means the person using it.
You accept these terms in the app, before you post anything in it. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your data.
Who can use WeRoam
You must be 18 or older to use WeRoam. You confirm this when you sign up. We do not verify it, and the app rejects an exact age under 18.
Your account
- You sign in with your Google or Apple account; there is no WeRoam password. Sign in with Apple may not be available yet, and until it is, Google is the only way to sign in.
- Your Google or Apple account is your identity in WeRoam. Signing in with Google and with Apple gives you two separate accounts that are not linked.
- Your profile needs a name of up to 40 characters.
- The app gives you an 8-character account ID. You cannot choose or change it, and it is never reassigned to another account. People can invite you to a trip by typing it exactly.
Trips, admins and members
- A trip has up to 12 members and one admin.
- People join through the trip’s invitation link, which leads to a request the admin approves, or through an invitation sent to their exact account ID. The link does not expire. Any member can copy it; only the admin can replace it with a new one.
- Members like destinations, and the admin closes the choice. There is no vote.
- The admin can remove members and can delete any document in the shared zone.
- Anyone can leave a trip at any time, except its only member, who deletes the trip if it has no expenses or finishes it if it has.
- Every member sees every expense and what each member owes.
What you share and who sees it
What you add to WeRoam — your profile, trip details, expenses, receipts, documents, itinerary entries and photos — is shown to the people the app shows it to, as set out in our privacy policy.
You give us permission to store what you add and to show it to those people. This permission continues for what stays in a trip after you leave it or delete your account, so the trip’s records and balance stay complete for the other members. What stays is listed on Delete your account.
What you must not post or do
This is what we mean by objectionable content and conduct. You must not use WeRoam to post, upload, share or do any of the following:
- anything illegal;
- insults or hate: attacking a person, or a group, for who they are;
- explicit sexual material, in text or in images, involving anyone, adults included;
- spam or advertising: promotion, commercial links or automated repetition;
- another person’s personal data: their phone number, address, documents or anything else that identifies someone who is not you;
- threats of violence or harm;
- pretending to be someone else;
- malware, or any harmful file or link;
- attempts to break, overload or get around the limits of the service, to scrape it, or to reach data you are not allowed to see.
Moderation and enforcement
- Names, bios, trip names, expense descriptions, itinerary titles and notes, and the titles and notes of shared documents are checked against a list of banned terms in English and Spanish. We maintain the list ourselves; no outside company checks your text. If your text contains a banned term, the app rejects it and tells you so.
- The link to a trip’s chat must point to one of a short list of allowed chat services.
- Photos and files are not scanned automatically. We deal with them when someone reports them.
- You can report a user, a piece of text or an uploaded file, choosing one of four categories. If you are not in any active trip, you can block people but not report them.
- A trip’s admin can remove members from that trip.
- WeRoam’s administrator can do only three things: review reports, remove content and close accounts.
- A review shows the reported item, who reported it and whose content it is; never the trip’s expenses, balances or member list.
- Removing text empties the field or replaces it with neutral text. Removing the title of a shared document deletes the whole document. A removed photo, shared file or receipt is deleted and cannot be recovered.
- Closing an account has exactly the same effect as deleting it yourself.
- Private documents are not shown in moderation, and we do not open them.
Blocking
You can block anyone. Outside a trip you share, neither of you can invite or find the other by account ID, and neither of you sees the other. Inside a trip you both belong to, nothing changes: names, expenses and the balance stay visible, and you can leave the trip if you want to stop sharing it. The person you block is not told, but may be able to work it out.
Money: WeRoam calculates, you settle
- WeRoam does not hold, move or process money, and has no payment system. When you pay someone back, you do it outside the app, between yourselves.
- WeRoam does not create payment links or record card payments automatically. You record payments between members yourself, with their amount and date.
- The app works out each member’s balance from the expenses and payments. Balances are not stored, and the suggested transfers for settling up are calculated on your phone.
- For an expense in another currency, ExchangeRate API proposes an exchange rate, and you can adjust it. When you save the expense, the rate used is fixed together with the converted amount, and the proposed rate is kept too. If the provider does not answer, the expense cannot be saved.
- WeRoam does not send payment reminders.
- If a member deletes their account, the amount they owe or are owed stays visible to the group under “Deleted account”.
Information is a guide, not advice
- The destination card shows links to official visa information, exchange rates, the weather, insurance and a written recommendation. A notice on the card, always visible, says this information is indicative and must be checked at the official source. Check it there before you rely on it.
- WeRoam never tells you whether you can enter a country. It links to that country’s official page, and it does not store your nationality.
- The insurance section says whether the country requires medical insurance to enter, with a link to the official page to check it. The cover it suggests is advice, and there is no link to buy insurance.
- Recommendations are written and reviewed by people. No AI writes them while you use the app.
- Prices in the destination catalogue are indicative.
Third-party services
WeRoam relies on services from other companies, listed in our privacy policy. Some features take you out of WeRoam: “open in Google Maps”, the link to the group’s chat, and the links to official sources on the destination card. Maps, places, weather and exchange rates come from other companies; we don’t control their content or whether they are available.

Price
WeRoam is free. In this version there are no charges, no paid tiers and no affiliate deals.
Availability and changes to the service
WeRoam needs an internet connection. The only thing that works offline is reopening documents you have already opened.
We may change, add or remove features of WeRoam.
Ending your account
- You can delete your account at any time, even if you still owe money in a trip. Delete your account explains how, and what is deleted and what is kept.
- We can close your account if you break these terms. Closing it has exactly the same effect as deleting it.
Disclaimers and liability
WeRoam calculates balances but does not move money, and its travel information is indicative. We work to keep WeRoam working and its information accurate, but we can’t promise the service will always be available or free of errors.
Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have under the law where you live.
Changes to these terms
When we change this page, we update the date at the top.
